Google Company Tour (San Diego Office)
On November 6th, I had the privilege of leading a group of students on a remarkable company tour at Google's San Diego office. These tours offer students a unique opportunity to dive into the dynamic world of business, gaining invaluable professional skills and enriching their professional development beyond traditional classroom boundaries.
Launching this initiative during the summer filled me with excitement and some anxiety as we prepared for our inaugural tour with one of the world's largest corporations. Months of meticulous planning and contingency preparation went into ensuring the event's success.
At Google, I discovered the renowned diversity and strong focus on employees' mental health, and these values truly came to life as I interacted with the 'Googlers' and 'Dooglers.' I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that sets Google apart from many other companies, inspiring our members to aspire to work here.
Our tour comprised a Google Site Tour, a Google presentation, and a Speaker's Panel, featuring esteemed professionals from Google's Marketing, Go-to-Market, and Sales teams. An engaging Q&A session allowed students to delve into Google's marketing strategies and gain broader insights into the company's operations. The tour concluded with a Networking Opportunity, enabling students to foster valuable industry connections.
And here's a fun fact to top it all off: Google has never hosted a university student tour before—American Marketing Association SDSU is pioneering this achievement, setting a remarkable record as the first to venture into this unique position.
